Why it matters
Worth doing properly the first time.
The Gold Coast is termite country. Warm, wet and full of softwood framing and garden beds against the slab. An inspection is the only way to find out what is happening inside a wall, and the difference between finding it early and finding it late is usually tens of thousands of dollars.

In this climate, once a year is the usual advice, and more often if the house has had termites before or backs onto bush.
How long does it take?
Allow around an hour and a half for an average house, longer with a big yard, a subfloor or outbuildings.
